By accessing or using the Sobriety Journey platform ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Sobriety Journey is a digital aftercare support platform that connects patients in addiction recovery with their therapists and rehabilitation centres. The Service includes daily check-ins, messaging, group therapy management, peer support circles, journaling, clinical assessments, and AI-assisted insights.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Patient accounts are created by therapists; patients activate their accounts via an invitation link.
  • Therapist accounts require approval by their centre administrator before activation.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Share your account credentials with others.
  • Attempt to access data belonging to other users or centres.
  • Post abusive, harmful, or inappropriate content in peer support circles.
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Service.

5. Health Disclaimer

Sobriety Journey is a support tool and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical care. In a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. AI-generated content (such as micro-lessons and clinical summaries) is for informational purposes only and must be reviewed by a qualified therapist.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including text, graphics, logos, and software — are the property of Sobriety Journey and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may request account deletion by contacting us at info@sobrietyjourney.org.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sobriety Journey shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
